The Solutions Engineer at the Innovation Laboratory (ILab) plays a pivotal role in enhancing the effectiveness of legal processes through the configuration and adaptation of software applications. This position is situated within a collaborative environment that merges expertise in artificial intelligence, software development, and process improvement to innovate and optimize client experiences in the legal industry. The Solutions Engineer will work closely with legal practitioners and clients to capture user needs, develop optimal technical designs, and ensure that the solutions provided maximize value for clients. This role requires a blend of technical acumen and interpersonal skills to effectively connect technology capabilities with the needs of end users. In this role, the Solutions Engineer will be responsible for building and adapting a portfolio of innovative solutions. This includes collecting requirements from end users and translating their experiences into desired software features and functionalities. The engineer will also diagnose and solve technical and usability problems, maintaining a clear awareness of the challenges faced by non-technical users when interacting with new technologies. A significant part of the job involves working with legal platform APIs, such as Microsoft Azure and iManage, for data collection and local analysis, as well as writing Python code to implement relevant data engineering and business logic. The Solutions Engineer will participate in the Agile software development process, including team Scrum meetings, and will collaborate with a diverse array of legal technology stakeholders, including attorneys, legal staff, software engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders. This collaboration aims to develop high-impact, innovative solutions tailored to the needs and challenges of the legal industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software development best practices and a team-oriented personality, comfortable engaging in both technical and stakeholder-centric discussions.
