About the position

As a Solutions Engineer at Sumo Logic, you will serve as the primary technical resource for the Enterprise Accounts team, leveraging your product and technical expertise to assist clients in understanding their requirements and pain points. Your role will involve guiding clients through the sales cycle, conducting product demonstrations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the service based on customer feedback. This position is ideal for individuals who are self-motivated and eager to learn about Sumo Logic's capabilities in solving complex business challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Account Executives to understand customer challenges and articulate Sumo Logic's value proposition.
  • Technically close complex opportunities through advanced competitive knowledge and technical skill.
  • Understand and help orchestrate all phases of the sales cycle, including leading technical validations during the Proof of Value phase.
  • Deliver product and technical demonstrations of the Sumo Logic service.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product Management and Engineering to improve the Sumo Logic service based on customer experiences.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years as a Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Implementation Consultant, Support Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or Software Developer with customer experience.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Security related products and technologies such as IDS/IPS, SIEM/Log Management, Network/Endpoint Security, etc.
  • Experience with open source collections like Telegraf, FluentBit, FluentD, Open Telemetry (preferred).
  • Experience with leading and running technical validations like Proof of Value (preferred).
  • Experience selling and working with pure SaaS solutions in multi-tenant architectures.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure (certification preferred).
  • Broad understanding of technical infrastructure (servers, networking devices, storage, etc.).
  • Understanding of modern application architecture (micro-services, containers) and experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and/or Lambda (preferred).
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, Datadog, Elastic, New Relic (preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as business and technical acumen.

  • Base salary range of $154,000 - $161,000.
