About the position

As a Solutions Software Engineer at GHD, you will be at the forefront of transforming data from a variety of consulting projects into meaningful visualizations, powerful tools, and efficient data management systems. This role is pivotal in ensuring that complex data is translated into clear and engaging visual formats that effectively communicate insights to clients and stakeholders. You will collaborate closely with senior team members to create interactive and visually compelling programs and displays using tools such as R, R Shiny, Excel, and HTML. Your contributions will not only enhance the user experience of data dashboards and reports but also ensure that deliverables accurately represent source information through rigorous quality checks. In addition to data visualization, you will support the development of data storage and organization solutions, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility for internal teams. This involves participating in the design and implementation of efficient data management processes that facilitate data input, processing, and retrieval. Staying updated on emerging trends and best practices in data visualization and management will be essential, as you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to learn from experienced professionals and contribute fresh perspectives to ongoing projects. Team collaboration is a key aspect of this role, as you will engage with environmental scientists, analysts, and other team members to understand data requirements and project goals. Your active participation in team meetings and brainstorming sessions will be crucial in sharing insights and ideas that drive project success.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• A strong foundation in programming languages, with exposure to Python, R, R Shiny, Excel, or HTML through coursework or personal projects.
• Basic understanding of data manipulation and visualization principles.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and applying new skills in a professional environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.
