About the position

The Sonographer at Oklahoma Heart Hospital is responsible for performing high-quality echocardiograms, stress echoes, and vascular studies. This role involves working closely with physicians to report interpretations and ensure patient care is at the forefront of all activities. The position requires a blend of technical skills and patient interaction, contributing to the overall mission of providing exceptional heart care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform echocardiograms, vascular studies, and stress echoes as directed by physicians.
  • Report interpretations of completed studies to physicians.
  • Assist in preparing patients for ultrasounds and vascular studies.
  • Schedule preventive maintenance on ultrasound equipment as needed.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including daily exam reports and logs.
  • Prepare the examination room and equipment in advance, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Transport portable ultrasound equipment as required.
  • Review patient charts and records for completeness prior to clinic visits.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of Ultrasound.
  • Current ARDMS or CCI certification or registry eligible, with the requirement to pass the registry within one year of hire.
  • BLS certification.
  • Documented competency in echo and non-invasive vascular imaging.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • Ability to manipulate ultrasound equipment for various exams and detect abnormal pathology.
