About the position

The Sonographer position at Oklahoma Heart Hospital involves performing high-quality echocardiograms, stress echoes, and vascular studies. The role is essential in providing accurate imaging and interpretations to support patient care in a heart-focused clinic environment. The Sonographer will work under general supervision, manage their own work patterns, and may need to travel to rural locations as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform echocardiograms, vascular studies, and stress echoes as directed by physicians.
  • Assist in pulling patients back and preparing them for ultrasounds and vascular studies.
  • Schedule preventive maintenance on ultrasound equipment when needed.
  • Assist in calling service on equipment as needed.
  • Complete all paperwork such as daily exam reports and logs.
  • Prepare the room and equipment in advance, ensuring the assigned area is clean, orderly, and stocked.
  • Transport portable ultrasound equipment as needed.
  • Review patient's charts and records for completeness prior to clinic visits.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of Ultrasound.
  • Current ARDMS or CCI certification or registry eligible, with the requirement to pass registry within one year of hire.
  • BLS certification.
  • Documented competency in echo and non-invasive vascular imaging.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • Ability to manipulate ultrasound equipment for various exams and detect abnormal pathology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PACS System and Cerner Computer System.
