The Sonographer II position at the University of Maryland Medical System involves performing routine and specialized sonographic procedures under general supervision. Responsibilities

• Executes basic clinical competence in Sonography across all patient types, selecting accurate equipment and demonstrating necessary knowledge and skills.
• Applies knowledge of Sonographic principles, performs high-level disinfecting procedures, and adheres to regulatory compliance standards.
• Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
• Ensures a safe work environment, maintains supplies, and reports equipment/environmental problems according to policy.
• Participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives and training activities.

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved and accredited Ultrasound Education Program.
• RDMS certification with a minimum of 1 year experience or RVT certification with no experience necessary.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.

Nice-to-haves

• RDMS certification with additional RVT certification within a year.
