About the position

The Sonographer II at Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital is responsible for performing ultrasound examinations as requested by clinicians. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of ultrasound technology to obtain high-quality diagnostic scans for interpretation by radiologists and cardiologists. The position involves maintaining equipment, preparing patients, and participating in quality measures and continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and procedures within standard time frames.
• Maintains equipment in good operating condition and operates equipment according to department and manufacturer's recommendations.
• Prepares and orients patients to the procedures.
• Is cooperative and helpful in a clear and courteous manner to co-workers, staff, patients, and visitors.
• Maintains and exhibits a current knowledge of ultrasound technology and participates in continuing education.
• Assists Lead with quality measures, onboarding and PI projects.

Requirements

• ARDMS Certification Required within first 12 months of hire
• Passed a specialty exam (vascular, abdomen, cardiac, etc.)
• Requirement of an RDMS, RVT or RDCS credential
• Satisfactory completion of formal ultrasound training in an AMA approved program
• Continuation of education to expand into echocardiograms may be required to meet staffing needs
• 0 years of Clinical Experience
• 1 year of Relevant Work Experience
• 1 year of Technical Experience
• High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience supporting hardware including computers, laptops, network devices and telephones
• Experience supporting software issues that includes remote troubleshooting capabilities and installation assistance.
