About the position
The Sonographer at the Bettendorf Imaging Center is responsible for providing general and specialized diagnostic imaging services and care to patients during both diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures. The technologist is accountable for obtaining optimal diagnostic images through the use of various types of diagnostic equipment. This position reports to the Director of Radiology Services and does not involve supervisory responsibilities. The role requires limited responsibility for material resources, including supplies and equipment, with a low level of complexity in managing these resources. Key relationships include co-workers, health system employees, physicians, medical office staff, students, interns, residents, outside instructors, patients, and their families.
Responsibilities
- Provide general and specialized diagnostic imaging services to patients.
- Ensure optimal diagnostic images are obtained using various diagnostic equipment.
- Participate in registry exams for Abdomen, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Vascular, General Physics, and Vascular Physics within specified time frames.
Requirements
- Completion of a 3-year college/university program or equivalent experience in Sonography.
- Less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Licensure/Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or eligibility in one area.
Nice-to-haves
- Basic Life Support certification.
