About the position

The Sonographer position involves performing imaging and Doppler ultrasound examinations on the heart and surrounding anatomy. This role is critical in providing diagnostic information to assist cardiologists and requires availability for 24-hour call with a quick response time. The position is a travel healthcare role based in Rochester, MN, with a contract duration of 13 weeks, starting on 11/25.

Responsibilities

  • Perform imaging and Doppler ultrasound examinations on the heart and surrounding anatomy.
  • Provide Doppler and color flow Doppler and M-mode techniques as indicated for patient records.
  • Assist cardiologist by operating the echo machine during transesophageal (TEE) studies.
  • Perform ultrasound examination component of stress echo.
  • Work in various settings including hospital, clinic, and outreach (mobile).
  • Be available for 24-hour call with a 30-minute response time.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one-year experience in adult and pediatric cardiac sonography including experience with transesophageal and stress echo.
  • Knowledge of pathology, diagnostic procedures, and patient care procedures.
  • Registered cardiac sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or registry eligible for RCS or RDCS.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Associates degree or Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited sonography program or High school diploma with 5 years cardiac ultrasound experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with mobile service operations helpful.
  • Proven ability to work with co-workers, physicians, and all levels of health care professionals.
