About the position

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join their team in Pleasant Grove, Utah. This role involves operating ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images while providing excellent patient care and support. The position emphasizes a patient-centered approach, ensuring that patients are informed and comfortable throughout their imaging procedures. This is a part-time position requiring one day of work per week, with shifts lasting either 8 or 10 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Screen patients before exams for precautions or contradictions using two patient identifiers.
  • Explain and prepare patients for ultrasound imaging procedures, including positioning them appropriately.
  • Perform routine and advanced ultrasound imaging procedures with minimal supervision, providing patient support throughout the process.
  • Adjust ultrasound scan parameters as needed to ensure quality imaging.
  • Maintain positive relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and colleagues.
  • Follow physicians' orders and safety regulations to protect patients and coworkers.
  • Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly, promoting good safety habits.
  • Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure ultrasound equipment is in good working order and disinfected after each use.
  • Prepare examinations for interpretation by the radiologist, including correct identification and processing of films.
  • Practice and maintain standard precautions and infection control policies.
  • Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
  • Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with training new associates.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist.
  • Experience in performing ultrasound imaging procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills to explain procedures to patients.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced ultrasound imaging techniques.
  • Familiarity with Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
