About the position

The House Director for Chi Omega Sorority at the University of Oregon is responsible for managing the sorority house, ensuring a safe and smoothly operating environment for the members. This role involves overseeing house operations, staff management, event planning, and maintaining relationships with service providers, all while adhering to university and chapter policies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operations of the sorority house under the direction of the House Corporation Board (HCB).
  • Serve as the official hostess for social events held at the Chapter House.
  • Supervise and manage all house staff and operations.
  • Purchase necessary supplies for the house, including kitchen and cleaning items.
  • Ensure a safe and positive environment for collegians and staff.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance and communicate maintenance issues to the HCB Representative.
  • Manage all minor repairs under $500 and notify HCB of major repairs with estimates.
  • Create strategies for the long-term care and upkeep of the facility.
  • Communicate any unusual trends or problems within the Chapter to HCB and Chapter advisers.
  • Create a comfortable and conducive learning environment within the Chapter House.

Requirements

  • Previous administrative and/or property management experience.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidential information.
  • Basic bookkeeping and payroll knowledge.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including patience and flexibility.

Nice-to-haves

  • Management experience including appropriate skill sets.
  • Facilities/property management experience.
  • House Director experience (not mandatory).
  • Understanding of Greek Life experience.
  • Community relations experience.
