About the position

The Audio Media Technology (AMT) team at Apple is at the forefront of innovation, playing a crucial role in the development of products such as the Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple TV, and various operating systems including macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS. The Core Audio team within AMT is responsible for providing the audio foundation for a multitude of high-profile features, including Siri, phone calls, FaceTime, media capture, playback, and APIs for third-party developers. This team is seeking passionate software engineers to contribute to the next generation of Sound Analysis machine listening software. This software not only supports a third-party framework but also powers a variety of machine listening features across Apple's ecosystem. In this role, you will collaborate with a highly cross-functional team that includes machine learning experts, system software engineers, hardware engineers, and designers. Your primary focus will be to create the infrastructure and systems that enable machine listening experiences throughout Apple's product lineup. You will be involved in the development of new features from conception to release, ensuring that they meet Apple's high standards for user experience, quality, and performance. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop machine listening software.
• Design and implement new features for audio processing applications.
• Work closely with machine learning experts to integrate advanced algorithms into audio systems.
• Ensure high standards of user experience, quality, and performance in all software releases.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment.

Requirements

• Excellent software design and programming skills in Swift, Objective-C, and/or C/C++.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end systems, from user experience to hardware.
• Experience with machine learning applications for speech or audio.
• Proven experience in developing real-time audio processing software.
• Proactive attitude and a passion for learning new technologies.
