About the position
The Sound Engineer will be responsible for managing live sound for performances, ensuring optimal audio quality for concerts and events. This role requires hands-on experience in live audio mixing and equipment setup, with a focus on collaboration with performers to meet their sound requirements.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain sound equipment for live performances, including microphones, mixers, speakers, and monitors.
- Mix live sound during performances, ensuring a balanced and clear audio experience for both the audience and performers.
- Work closely with the band/performers to meet their specific sound requirements and preferences.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to sound equipment during rehearsals and performances.
- Ensure the safe storage, transport, and maintenance of all sound gear.
- Assist with sound checks and ensure that sound levels are appropriate for different venues and event sizes.
- Collaborate with other team members, including lighting and stage crew, to ensure a seamless show.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a live sound engineer or audio technician.
- Strong knowledge of sound equipment, audio mixing, and signal flow.
- Ability to troubleshoot sound issues quickly and efficiently in a live performance setting.
- Experience with digital and analog mixing consoles, wireless microphones, and stage monitoring systems.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments, with excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel for performances as needed.
