About the position

The Sound Engineer will have a love of music, ability to work in a fast moving environment and schooling or previous experience in sound engineering. This requires understanding the basics of a live performance and the importance of sound quality and control. The Sound Engineer position is based in Perdido Key, Florida, and reports directly to the Production Director for weekly assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Must have knowledge of analog and digital audio equipment
  • Set-up and break down live performances in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform sound checks and mix live audio
  • Operate lighting and be attentive to each performance
  • Resolve technical issues when they arise
  • Maintain daily equipment checks
  • Meet with performers prior to the show to determine sound needs
  • Work with Production Director and Manager(s) to maintain quality control
  • Show up to work on-time and in a clean, presentable fashion

Requirements

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated team player with a willingness to learn
  • The ability to work successfully in a high-energy, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment is necessary
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple processes, programs and procedures simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays and black-out event dates
  • Be receptive to exposure to outside elements including heat and/or humidity, cold temperatures, wet conditions, and prolonged standing/walking
