About the position

The Sound Technician position is a part-time role focused on professional audio engineering, primarily responsible for operating the sound board and livestream during Sunday morning services and special events at North Branch Reformed Church. The role involves collaboration with the Director of Music and Worship Arts and the Sound Team Leader to ensure high-quality audio for worship services and various performances.

Responsibilities

• Run the sound board and livestream for Sunday AM services and special events.
• Collaborate with the Director of Music and Worship Arts and Sound Team Leader.
• Provide optimal musical sound and clear spoken word during live and livestreamed services.
• Set up and tear down performance and rehearsal spaces.
• Assist in special services such as Christmas Eve, Easter, and Thanksgiving.

Requirements

• Background and training in audio engineering/sound board operations.
• Experience in running a multi-channel sound board and livestream.
• Ability to mic and mix contemporary bands, traditional choirs, and multiple speakers.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow directions.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Good communication skills and a team player attitude.
• Ability to think quickly and react appropriately in live performance settings.
• Willingness to attend training sessions and engage with training materials.
• Punctuality and dependability.
• Musical ear or training in audio engineering.
