About The Position

The Sourcing Manager (Raptor) at SpaceX plays a crucial role in the supply chain department, focusing on creating and executing sourcing strategies that align with the company's goals. Requirements

• Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, material or production planning, operations or supply chain management, or material cost control; or a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience; or 9+ years of experience in the mentioned fields.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

• Familiarity or experience working with aerospace components.
• Strong ability to read drawings and blueprints with an understanding of manufacturing complexity.
• Experience with technical procurement, manufacturing, or designing production components.
• APICS certification.

Responsibilities

• Create sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet purchasing targets.
• Develop and maintain key internal stakeholder relationships to optimize the value of products and services.
• Communicate, manage, and drive compliance to category strategies.
• Identify and execute cost reduction projects, coordinating with stakeholders and providing project updates.
• Perform advanced quantitative and business process analyses to assess financial impacts and performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define SLAs and KPIs for suppliers and measure performance criteria.
• Conduct research, benchmarking, and market analysis for assigned categories.
• Create contract documents in collaboration with the legal department.
• Manage contracts to ensure supplier performance meets obligations.
• Maximize value and cost savings through strategic negotiations.
• Identify and drive year-over-year cost optimization by reducing usage and eliminating waste.
• Establish preferred suppliers for assigned categories.
• Create and implement management programs to develop and monitor supply base performance.
• Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices related to assigned categories.
• Develop and lead efforts to reduce the number of transactions for assigned categories.
