About The Position

The Sourcing Manager (Raptor) at SpaceX plays a crucial role in the supply chain department, focusing on creating and executing sourcing strategies that align with the company's operational goals. Requirements

  • Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, material planning, operations, or supply chain management; or a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience; or 9+ years of experience in relevant fields.
  • Strong ability to read drawings and blueprints, with an understanding of manufacturing complexity.
  • Experience with technical procurement, manufacturing, or designing production components.
  • APICS certification and Lean Six Sigma certification are preferred.
  • Proven track record of leadership and team building.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills with a strong problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

  • Create sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet purchasing targets.
  • Develop and maintain key internal stakeholder relationships to optimize the value of products and services.
  • Communicate, manage, and drive compliance to category strategies.
  • Identify and execute cost reduction projects, coordinating with stakeholders and providing project updates.
  • Perform advanced quantitative and business process analyses to assess financial impacts and performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define SLAs and KPIs for suppliers and measure performance criteria.
  • Conduct research, benchmarking, and market analysis for assigned categories.
  • Create contract documents in collaboration with the legal department and manage supplier performance to contract obligations.
  • Maximize value and cost savings through strategic negotiations and year-over-year cost optimization.
  • Establish preferred suppliers and implement management programs to monitor supply base performance.
  • Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices related to assigned categories.
  • Lead efforts to reduce the number of transactions for assigned categories.
