About the position

The Sourcing Specialist at Metso Outotec will play a vital role in the Professional Services Business Line, focusing on developing and executing sourcing strategies to enhance operational efficiencies and total cost of ownership. This position involves ensuring supplier compliance with Metso's standards for quality, health, safety, and sustainability, while also managing contracts and optimizing the supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Design a streamlined supply footprint to minimize acquisition costs and ensure on-time delivery.
• Create, negotiate, and implement contracts with suppliers.
• Direct cost reduction projects with suppliers.
• Resolve interface issues between Sourcing and Engineering to ensure seamless deliveries.
• Effectively control incurred costs from internal providers.
• Assist the Engineering team in implementing a 'design to cost' strategy.
• Establish acquisition processes and implement tools to track delivery status.
• Develop and implement supplier qualification processes.
• Assess supplier capabilities and define actions for compliance with Quality, HSE, and Sustainability standards.
• Provide technical support to ensure supplier readiness and capability.
• Hold suppliers accountable by communicating performance metrics and creating corrective action plans.
• Monitor supplier demand and expedite purchase orders.
• Facilitate execution of supplier performance improvement plans and collaborate with internal partners to resolve issues.
• Develop relevant supplier management targets, dashboards, and communication strategies.
• Perform other functions as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Over 10 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, and supplier development.
• Proficient in strategic procurement, cost modeling, contract management, supplier development, and total cost of ownership.
• Advanced skills in SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Comprehensive analytical and organizational skills with a keen business sense.
• Proven leadership abilities with a talent for developing and deploying strategic action plans.
• Effective communicator and negotiator.
