About the position

The Sourcing Specialist role is a contract position focused on managing the sourcing process for assigned categories within the utilities industry. The position involves collaboration with various internal teams and external suppliers to ensure effective supplier selection and performance management. The role emphasizes building relationships, conducting negotiations, and providing market insights to optimize sourcing strategies and reduce costs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sourcing process for assigned categories, coordinating with business units, legal teams, and ISC personnel, while engaging with suppliers and industry analysts externally.
  • Evaluate responses to basic bid requests, distilling commercial differences to provide clear recommendations that support supplier selection for contract awards.
  • Successfully conduct straightforward negotiations.
  • Lead or contribute to sourcing project teams, recommending and communicating sourcing strategies, progress, and outcomes to supervisors and ISC leadership.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business units and suppliers, performing industry analysis and assessing supplier performance.
  • Provide market insights to support supplier selection, qualification, and performance management.
  • Reduce total cost of ownership by participating in sourcing data analysis, forecasting, and planning.
  • Identify and develop new suppliers while monitoring the performance of current ones.
  • Support the management of external spending.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree with a preference in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related fields preferred.
  • Good communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Candidate must have 1+ years of supply chain/procurement experience.
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume workload in a fast paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with a focus on Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Benefits
