About the position

The Sous Chef at Paloma Landing is responsible for preparing nutritious and appealing meals for active seniors, ensuring a smooth and safe kitchen operation. The ideal candidate will have experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking and will adhere to food service sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare nutritious and appetizing meals for residents.
  • Work collaboratively with other culinary services team members.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen area.
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with residents and staff.
  • Meet deadlines and work well under time constraints.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Two years of experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking.
  • Knowledge of food service sanitation practices.
  • Ability to maintain a food handlers permit as required by state regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
