About the position
The position is responsible for the overall success of daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production while leading and managing kitchen staff. The role focuses on improving guest and employee satisfaction, maintaining the operating budget, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and food standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage kitchen shift operations and ensure compliance with Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
- Estimate daily production needs and communicate them to kitchen personnel.
- Assist Executive Chef with kitchen operations and preparation.
- Prepare and cook foods for regular service and special events.
- Develop and create new food applications and presentations.
- Maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards.
- Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
- Perform duties of kitchen managers and employees as necessary.
- Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure standards are met.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and kitchen staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related area; or a 2-year degree in Culinary Arts or related field with 2 years of experience.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
- Ability to lead and manage kitchen staff effectively.
