About the position

The Sous Chef at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission plays a crucial role in overseeing the food and nutritional services department, ensuring high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction. This position involves supervising kitchen staff, managing food preparation, and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef Manager to coordinate operational activities and uphold productivity standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff to ensure overall customer satisfaction with Retail and Patient food and nutritional services.
  • Plan, organize, supervise, coordinate, and control operational activities of the Food and Nutritional Services Department.
  • Create staff schedules and ensure productivity standards are met.
  • Oversee the purchasing, storing, receiving, and issuing of food and supplies.
  • Supervise food preparation by staff and ensure proper presentation of foods.

Requirements

  • Three years of relevant experience
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Culinary Arts Certificate if applicable to state
  • ServSafe Manager Certification or equivalent
