About The Position

The South Asia Program Junior Fellowship at the Henry L. Stimson Center offers a one-year, full-time opportunity for recent graduates to engage with security issues in South Asia. This fellowship allows participants to work closely with senior staff and researchers, contributing to research and analysis that informs policymakers about critical dynamics in the region. Junior Fellows will develop essential skills in research, writing, and project management while participating in professional development opportunities and public events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong background in South Asian politics, economics, or security.
  • Demonstrated analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • U.S. work authorization for the full 12 months of the fellowship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience living or working in South Asia.
  • Language skills in Hindi, Urdu, or Mandarin.
  • Data science skills.
  • Video editing skills.
  • Event and project management experience.
  • Web management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Stimson South Asia Program's research and analysis efforts.
  • Assist with public events, workshops, and research for publications.
  • Contribute to programmatic efforts such as South Asian Voices and the Strategic Learning initiative.
  • Engage with leading scholars and practitioners in the field.
  • Conduct, present, and publish independent research.
