About the position

The ICU RN position at Memorial Hermann Health System involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit. The role requires collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure effective patient care, utilizing the nursing process. The position emphasizes safety, compassion, and personalized care, aiming to create exceptional experiences for patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe and appropriate care to patients according to nursing skills inventory and patient needs.
  • Coordinate the planning for nursing care delivery with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Collaborate with and may delegate tasks to the healthcare team to achieve positive patient outcomes.
  • Coordinate treatment plans and develop/implement discharge and transfer plans.
  • Participate in ongoing evaluation of programs and process improvements for client-centered outcomes.
  • Consider diverse patient needs throughout the continuum of care to optimize the patient experience.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards.
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors while adhering to Memorial Hermann policies and budgetary specifications.
  • Promote individual professional growth and development through continuing education and skills competency.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
  • Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support.
  • Experience level: RN I (newly licensed), RN II (1-3 years), RN III (3-10 years), RN IV (10+ years).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
