About the position

The Southwest Region Marketing Manager at Garver Engineering plays a pivotal role in supporting transportation project pursuits in Texas. This position involves collaboration with marketing leadership and client-facing teams to develop and implement sales strategies, conduct market research, and enhance client relationships. The manager is responsible for leading proposal development efforts, mentoring team members, and ensuring effective communication across various business lines to drive successful outcomes in client account management.

Responsibilities

  • Align with Garver values and promote teamwork and collaboration.
  • Coordinate and lead regular client account meetings to optimize client share potential.
  • Research client organizations, procurement processes, and market trends.
  • Document client's business objectives, challenges, and funding plans.
  • Facilitate client relationship mapping and analysis.
  • Engage in strategic pursuits and conduct Go/No Go discussions with leadership.
  • Lead win plan development and capture planning efforts throughout the pursuit lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with leadership to assign marketing support staff based on project needs.
  • Author key sections of proposal submissions and ensure compliance and quality checks.
  • Lead internal debriefs on team success and participate in client debriefs.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of extensive experience in pursuit development in the A/E/C industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, marketing, communications, business, journalism, or a closely related field.
  • Previous experience working with Texas-based clients, including the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership skills to build trust and influence others.
  • Experience leading teams and developing professionals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Experience with strategic marketing initiatives in the engineering sector.
