About the position

The Southwest Region Marketing Manager at Garver Engineering is responsible for leading marketing efforts to support transportation project pursuits in Texas. This role involves collaborating with various internal teams to develop and execute sales strategies, manage client accounts, and drive effective proposal development. The manager will also mentor emerging sales team members and ensure alignment with Garver's values and client-focused service philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Align with Garver values and promote teamwork and collaboration.
  • Develop and drive account strategy, including marketing investment decisions.
  • Coordinate and lead regular client account meetings to optimize client share potential.
  • Research client organizations, procurement processes, and market trends.
  • Identify and document client's business objectives and risk profiles.
  • Facilitate client relationship mapping and analysis.
  • Engage on Tier 1 and Strategic pursuits and analyze potential gaps.
  • Lead win plan development and capture plan efforts throughout the pursuit lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with leadership to ensure proper marketing support staff is assigned.
  • Author key sections of proposal submissions and provide strategic oversight.
  • Lead internal debriefs on team success and client debriefs.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of extensive experience in pursuit development in the A/E/C industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, marketing, communications, business, journalism, or closely related field.
  • Previous experience working with Texas-based clients, including the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership skills to build trust and influence others.
  • Experience leading teams and developing professionals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with strategic marketing initiatives in engineering or construction sectors.
  • Familiarity with client relationship management tools.
