About the position

The Sovereign Debt Research Analyst position at Lazard is a spring internship aimed at undergraduate seniors graduating between December 2024 and May 2025. This role focuses on emerging markets fixed income, providing an opportunity for students to apply their analytical skills in a real-world setting while working closely with senior research analysts. The position requires in-person work one day a week starting January 2025, leading to a full-time role in summer 2025.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with senior research analysts on bottom-up analysis in both USD and locally denominated debt for EM countries.
• Conduct quantitative analysis and research to support decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with team members.
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to PMs and senior team members.

Requirements

• Strong academic performance.
• Strong technical skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts to stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being capable of working independently on assigned tasks.
• Demonstrated interest in financial markets, particularly in emerging market fixed income.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of languages other than English is a plus.
