About the position
In an animal caretaker position at Iowa Select Farms, you would join a dedicated team that oversees the daily care of our animals. This role is essential in ensuring the health and well-being of the animals under our care. Daily responsibilities include providing feed and water to the animals, conducting daily observations to monitor their health, and tending to newborn piglets. Additionally, caretakers are involved in breeding and pregnancy checking, ensuring that the animals are in proper environmental conditions, and performing light facility maintenance tasks, which may include rotating power washing responsibilities. Requirements
- Adhering to all company biosecurity, animal well-being, and safety policies
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40lbs
- Ability to climb over gates up to 48 inches in height
- Self-motivated and dependable
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Willingness to work a rotating weekend and holiday schedule
