About the position

The Spa Operations Manager at Aman New York is responsible for overseeing the entire spa operations and administration, ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction. This role involves managing fitness services, promoting spa offerings, and maintaining operational efficiency while adhering to company standards. The position requires a proactive approach to guest relations and staff management, with a focus on maximizing revenue and maintaining a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the entire Spa, Wellness and Fitness Management team.
  • Ensure an efficient and smooth spa operation with guests' and employees' safety based on our policy.
  • Maintain updated product knowledge, current promotions, and SOP.
  • Ensure an appropriate cash float based on SOP established by Finance.
  • Understand the department P&L and its relationship with daily operations.
  • Promote and sell spa menu/package to guests and members in a knowledgeable and professional way.
  • Maximize spa revenue and reputation.
  • Assist in the supervision and operation of all spa departments including Spa Management, Spa Membership, Spa Receptions, Therapists, and Instructors.
  • Handle guest complaints, requests, and inquiries for all spa services professionally.
  • Greet all VIP guests at the spa on behalf of Spa Manager and Director.
  • Monitor spa reception during peak operation hours and ensure team efficiency with high service quality and hygiene.
  • Proactively seek guest comments and feedback.
  • Understand market trends and activities of competitors.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and documents.
  • Handle flexible operations to meet guest expectations.
  • Establish professional relationships with vendors.
  • Develop and train all spa staff.
  • Update SOP with the latest information.
  • Administer and implement staff training for all spa operations.
  • Conduct emergency procedures and safety training.
  • Develop training activities focused on improving skills and product knowledge.
  • Ensure all staff understand rules and regulations.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback.
  • Maintain a pleasant working environment for the spa team.

Requirements

  • 2 years' experience in a luxury hotel environment.
  • Current certifications from a nationally recognized and accredited fitness program.
  • Basic computer and typing skills.
  • Positive, engaging, and energetic personality.
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage time wisely with minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Sensitivity to cultural nuances.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent people skills and ability to work under pressure with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Multi-lingual is a plus.
  • Medical knowledge and/or experience is a plus.
  • Strong holistic health, wellness, and nutritional background.
  • Graduate of Hotel School or College Degree.
  • PC Skills (Word/Excel/Powerpoint).
