About the position

SAIC is seeking a Space Control Research and Operational Support Analyst to provide support to the United States Space Force Headquarters Space Operations Command (USSF HQSpOC). In this capacity, this position will provide direct support to the operational units by providing research and analysis for support to existing operational programs and the integration of future programs/concepts. This includes both ground and space segment analysis in support of all HQ functions to include operations, requirements, and the Planning Programming Budgeting and Execution Program Objective Memorandum process. The candidate must be able to serve as a Subject Matter Expert representing HQ SpOC space control operational support analysis and positions and effectively interface with the integrated Space Control Mission Area Team. This is a full-time position and resides at the Government customer location at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Roles and Responsibilities include: Provide detailed research and analysis support for the assessment of current capabilities and the development of current and future capabilities. The candidate should have the ability to integrate and assess analysis on adversary capabilities and their impact on current and future operational programs. The role requires working with internal and external organizations such as the Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP), USSF Pentagon Elements, USSF Operational Units, Combatant Commands (COCOM), Intelligence Community (IC), and various research and development organizations. The analyst will provide support to the integrated Space Control Mission Area Team and assist with the HQ USSF Space Control POM submissions. Additionally, the role involves strategic planning and operational support for the execution of USSF Wargames, as well as researching and analyzing issues requiring HQ SpOC interpretation, position, or decision, and preparing reports, graphs, and presentations. The analyst will also provide analysis support to the review of policy, strategies, doctrine, law, and regulations in support of HQ SpOC operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed research and analysis support for the assessment of current capabilities and the development of current and future capabilities.
  • Integrate and assess analysis on adversary capabilities and their impact on current and future operational programs.
  • Work with internal and external organizations such as SWAC, SSDP, USSF Pentagon Elements, USSF Operational Units, COCOM, IC, and various research and development organizations.
  • Support the integrated Space Control Mission Area Team.
  • Assist with the HQ USSF Space Control POM submissions.
  • Provide strategic planning and operational support for the execution of USSF Wargames.
  • Research and analyze issues requiring HQ SpOC interpretation, position, or decision, and prepare reports, graphs, and presentations.
  • Provide analysis support to the review of policy, strategies, doctrine, law, and regulations in support of HQ SpOC operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 5+ years of related space control operational experience.
  • Strong presentation skills and experience interfacing with senior government officials.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, NMIS, and SGN.
  • Five years of experience in at least two of the following areas: HQ AFSPC support (now USSF HQ SpOC), Space Control mission area (operational planning and execution), COCOM experience with operational planning, Intelligence Community experience, Joint Capability Integration and Development System (JCIDS), Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE).
  • Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable).
  • Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience or level of familiarity with Space Control Operational Unit Experience.
  • Experience with HQ AFSPC Staff (MAJCOM Staff).
  • COCOM Planning and Operations experience.
  • Operational Planning (OPLAN, CONPLAN development) experience.
  • Operational support within the IC (NRO).
