About the position

The Space Force Cybersecurity Policy Expert position at Leidos is a critical role within the National Security Sector, specifically designed to support the United States Space Force (USSF) in enhancing its cybersecurity capabilities. This position is based at Fort Meade, MD, and is part of a larger program that supports the Air Combat Command's Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive cybersecurity policies and guidance that align with the USSF's operational objectives and regulatory requirements. In this role, the expert will work closely with the Space Force Cryptologic Office (SFCO) to bolster multi-domain operations and cyberspace capabilities, particularly in the face of cyber threats. The workload will include a variety of tasks such as Protective Domain Name Services, Attack Surface Management, and Threat Intelligence Collaboration activities. The candidate will be expected to document and execute policies that comply with Department of Defense (DoD), USSF, National Security Agency (NSA), National Information Security Program Operating Manual (NISSPOM), and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publications. The Space Force Cybersecurity Policy Expert will also play a pivotal role in promoting awareness of cybersecurity policies among USSF senior leaders, ensuring that sound cybersecurity principles are integrated into the organization's mission, vision, and goals. This includes developing Cybersecurity Division (CSD) compliant Cyber and Information Assurance plans that reflect USSF mission objectives and operational plans. The expert will interpret and apply relevant laws and regulations, develop and disseminate cybersecurity vulnerability management alerts, and conduct thorough analyses of unit host systems for indicators of malicious cyber activity. Additionally, the role involves overseeing Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities and providing training and briefings on Information Assurance and Cyber Defense as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Document and execute policies compliant with DoD, USSF, NSA, NISSPOM, and NIST Special Publications.
  • Promote rigorous awareness of cyber policy and strategy amongst USSF senior leaders.
  • Develop Cybersecurity Division (CSD) compliant Cyber and Information Assurance plans that reflect USSF mission objectives.
  • Work independently or with mission partners to develop policy, programs, and guidelines for implementation.
  • Interpret and apply applicable laws, statutes, and regulatory documents into policy.
  • Develop and disseminate Cybersecurity Vulnerability Management alerts, bulletins, and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS).
  • Analyze unit host systems for indicators of Malicious Cyber Activity (MCA) and document findings.
  • Oversee Risk Management Framework (RMF) management and execution activities.
  • Perform cyber threat analysis and reporting on information derived from various intelligence sources.
  • Conduct Information Assurance and Cyber Defense training and briefings as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 15+ years of relevant experience or Master's Degree with 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive familiarity with applicable DoD and NSA Policy and Guidance, Operations, and Staff Functions.
  • Possess an IAM Level II certification.
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph.
