The Space Force Cybersecurity Policy Expert position at Leidos is a critical role within the National Security Sector, specifically designed to support the United States Space Force (USSF) in enhancing its cybersecurity posture. This position is located at Fort Meade, MD, and is part of a larger program that supports the Air Combat Command's Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive cybersecurity policies and guidance tailored to the unique needs of the USSF. This includes creating specific business practices that align with the overarching goals of the Space Force and its mission partners. In this role, the expert will work closely with the Space Force Cryptologic Office (SFCO) to bolster multi-domain operations and cyberspace capabilities, particularly in the face of cyber threats. The workload will involve a variety of tasks, including Protective Domain Name Services, Attack Surface Management, and Threat Intelligence Collaboration activities. The candidate will be expected to document and execute policies that comply with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, USSF directives, and guidance from the National Security Agency (NSA), as well as other relevant standards such as NIST Special Publications. The Space Force Cybersecurity Policy Expert will also play a pivotal role in promoting awareness of cybersecurity policies and strategies among senior leaders within the USSF. This involves ensuring that sound cybersecurity principles are integrated into the organization's mission, vision, and goals. The expert will develop Cybersecurity Division (CSD) compliant plans that reflect USSF mission objectives and operational constraints, and will work independently or collaboratively with mission partners to create effective policies and programs. Additionally, the role requires the expert to analyze unit host systems for indicators of malicious cyber activity and insider threats, document findings, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks. The candidate will oversee Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, perform cyber threat analysis, and conduct training and briefings on Information Assurance and Cyber Defense as needed. This position is essential for ensuring that the USSF maintains its status as a premier force in space operations, capable of defending against evolving cyber threats.
