About the position
The Space & Launch Market Director will lead the efforts in the Space & Launch divisions at Karman, focusing on identifying, qualifying, and acquiring programs related to integrated energetic systems and complex structures for military applications. This role requires a strong communicator with extensive experience in the aerospace and defense industry, particularly in defense systems, to drive market expansion and build strategic relationships with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Identifies and matures initial capture targets, market expansion within the DoD Services and Prime Contractors
- Develops relationships with PEOs, Prime Contractors, and Industrial Partners
- Develops, plans, and executes customer connections and meetings to effectively message Karman solutions to specified decision makers
- Facilitates participation in industry community activities and networking opportunities; utilizing trade shows & events to generate opportunities
- Builds industry-wide company recognition
- Identifies opportunities to fill new technology & manufacturing gaps in industry
- Leads strategic teaming, subcontractors, and supports acquisition & mergers
- Supports marketing team with content and strategy for marketing material, websites, social networking, etc.
Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field and/or military experience
- 10+ years in aerospace and defense industry and/or U.S. military
- Experience or exposure to engineering, concept development, technology application, and program planning
- Ability to communicate effectively with both written and spoken forms
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance
