About the position

The Space Manager & Drafter position at Georgia College & State University (GCSU) is responsible for managing and implementing the space planning function for all interior spaces within the university. This role involves identifying, analyzing, planning, and coordinating complex space allocations, as well as performing drafting functions using CAD software. The position ensures the accuracy and upkeep of all space data and supports building information management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain detailed specifications of building alterations and additions, including layout and working drawings.
• Manage and maintain space data integrity through established databases for planning and reporting.
• Prepare and issue reports utilizing drawings and spreadsheets for internal and external agencies.
• Gather supporting data and prepare detailed maps of institutional property, showing dimensions and specifications.
• Communicate effectively with internal departments regarding CAD drawings and space management.

Requirements

• Associate's, Vocational or Technical degree in CAD/drafting, Urban Planning, GIS, or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office products, Adobe, AutoCAD or similar drafting applications.
• Advanced communication skills, both oral and written.
