About the position

The Space Nuclear Propulsion (SNP) engineer intern will support research and development activities related to space nuclear propulsion. This role involves working closely with a NASA department-level Principal Investigator and engaging in various engineering processes, including configuration management and systems engineering. The intern will also be responsible for data interpretation and reduction using engineering tools.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a controlled lab environment.
  • Collaborate with NASA department level Principal Investigator for R&D specific to Space Nuclear Propulsion.
  • Support Configuration Management and Systems Engineering Processes.
  • Interpret data and perform data reduction using engineering tools such as MatLab, Python, WinPlot, and Excel.

Requirements

  • Working towards a BS or MS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Less than 3 years of experience preferred.
  • Ability to provide own transportation.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good academic standing with a strong aptitude in the major field.
