About the position

Creative Works is seeking a creative and organized individual to join our team as a designer. In this role, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects and collaborating with clients and colleagues to deliver exceptional results. You will utilize design software to visualize spaces effectively and bring your ideas to life through stunning designs. Your work will involve creating inviting and fun environments for family entertainment centers, children's museums, theme parks, and more. You will be expected to use AutoCAD to create 2D layouts for various attractions, including laser tag arenas and miniature golf courses. Additionally, you will prepare architectural packets of information and drawings for clients and the internal production team, ensuring that all plans meet the needs of all parties involved. As a key member of our team, you will also be responsible for providing initial concepts to clients through theme/concept boards and mood/material boards, which will showcase a sampling of materials and colors. Your knowledge of construction methods, materials, techniques, and production systems will be essential in sourcing new materials based on client needs and presented concepts. You will occasionally work with client architects, building inspectors, fire marshals, and other stakeholders to review plans and make necessary adjustments. This position requires a minimum of three years of space planning or interior design experience in a professional setting, along with a four-year degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture Design, Architectural Technology, or Engineering. A portfolio of design work in retail and commercial environments is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Use AutoCAD to create 2D layouts for floor plans (laser tag arenas, miniature golf courses, amusement facilities, etc.)
  • Create inviting and fun environments for family entertainment centers, children's museums, theme parks, etc.
  • Layout electrical, low voltage, lighting and more on plans
  • Provide initial concepts to clients through theme/concept boards
  • Provide a sampling of materials and colors to clients through mood/material boards
  • Prepare architectural packets of information and drawings for clients and internal production team
  • Assist the Design Department in the overall creative scope of projects
  • Work with client architects, building inspectors, fire marshals, and clients to review plans and make adjustments
  • Source new materials based on the needs of clients/concepts presented

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of space planning/interior design experience in a professional setting preferred but not required
  • 4-year degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture Design, Architectural Technology or Engineering is preferred
  • Ability to provide a portfolio of design work in Retail and Commercial environments
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, techniques and production systems

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Wrike software
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite including Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as Revit, Sketchup, Vectorworks or other
