About the position

As a Space Systems Engineer at Booz Allen, you will leverage your technical skills and big-picture thinking to make a significant impact in the Department of Defense (DoD). You will be responsible for understanding the customer's environment and developing the right systems for their mission. Your role will involve translating real-world needs into technical specifications, making you an integral part of delivering customer-focused engineering solutions. You will collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop, deploy, and integrate next-generation resilient space, ground, and user capabilities across the Space Systems Command Enterprise. This includes deterring attacks and providing critical information to warfighters. You will be trusted to test, analyze, evaluate, validate, and verify systems while using your knowledge of new technologies and concepts to identify areas requiring mitigation. Additionally, you will support senior clients on budgetary and investment prioritizations and collaborate with DoD Science and Technology organizations to create enterprise roadmaps for technology transition plans. Responsibilities

  • Develop, rapidly deploy, and integrate resilient space, ground, and user capabilities.
  • Test, analyze, evaluate, validate, and verify systems.
  • Identify areas requiring mitigation for future missions.
  • Support senior clients on budgetary and investment prioritizations.
  • Collaborate with DoD Science and Technology organizations to create enterprise roadmaps.
  • Utilize complex test tools, including automation, for systems engineering integration.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with systems engineering on large-scale space, ground, software, or hardware systems, or Major Defense Acquisition Programs.
  • Experience developing, deploying, and troubleshooting software in a containerized environment.
  • Experience writing and utilizing complex test tools, including automation.
  • Experience supporting overall engineering integration of Systems Engineering and Integration efforts for the Satellite Control Network, DoD, government agencies, or commercial programs.
  • Experience performing systems engineering in space or aerospace concepts and alternative design, architectural analysis, modeling and simulation, enterprise strategic planning, or digital engineering methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Linux, C++, Python, Perl, and Java.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience defining machine learning (ML) models for AI applications, especially in image processing.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools such as MagicDraw, Cameo, or SysML.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and using Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to proactively find and fill gaps in emerging technologies as a software integrator.
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
  • Security+, Network+, Kubernetes K8, or equivalent Technologies Certifications.
