About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. This role requires a strong understanding of accrual accounting principles and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Conduct account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Perform financial audits and assist in the preparation of audit schedules.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support business objectives.
• Utilize accounting software such as PeopleSoft for efficient financial reporting and analysis.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices.

Requirements

• Proficiency in accrual accounting principles and practices.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
• Experience in financial auditing processes and procedures.
• Expertise in balance sheet reconciliation and account reconciliation techniques.
• Strong analytical skills for conducting thorough financial analysis.
• Ability to prepare detailed financial statements accurately and timely.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of wills, trusts, and estate law is a plus.
• Familiarity with the financial services industry is advantageous.
• CPA certification (Preferred).
