About the position

The Accounts Receivable Manager at MMT is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely collections, and fostering strong relationships with both customers and team members. This role involves managing the end-to-end AR process, leading a high-performing team, and implementing credit policies to enhance cash flow and minimize risk.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end AR process including billing, invoicing, credit approvals, and collections.
  • Create customer deposit and sales invoices primarily in Microsoft Great Plains.
  • Manage cash applications and ensure accurate AR transaction recordings.
  • Resolve customer disputes and payment discrepancies effectively.
  • Support month-end close procedures and reconciliations.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop a high-performing AR team.
  • Hire, train, and manage team performance, driving key metrics like Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and collection efficiency.
  • Guide the team in resolving complex AR issues while fostering collaboration.
  • Develop and enforce credit policies to minimize risk and improve cash flow.
  • Monitor AR aging reports, identify at-risk accounts, and implement collection strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers to ensure timely payments.
  • Prepare detailed AR reports and dashboards for management to assess performance.
  • Analyze trends, identify areas of improvement, and recommend process optimizations.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
  • Ensure AR processes comply with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and system enhancements in collaboration with IT or ERP teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years in AR or similar financial roles, including 5+ years in a managerial position.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Great Plains, Dynamics 365 Business Central, or Epicor is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of AR processes, credit management, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Office Suite.
  • Analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building trust with customers and internal teams.
