About the position

The Aggregate Sales Representative is responsible for driving pricing growth, providing superior customer service, and supporting market expansion through the acquisition of new customers. This role emphasizes collaboration across multiple lines of business, exceptional communication, and responsiveness to the customer base, with a focus on face-to-face interactions to build strong relationships. The representative will also log activities in Salesforce, forecast accurately, and participate in sales meetings, with occasional overnight travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate comprehensive sales and marketing of concrete and related services to end-users, including private contractors, municipalities, commercial businesses, and agencies within the territory.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies that align with company goals for pricing growth under the guidance of the Director of Sales.
  • Represent the company in customer interactions, ensuring a customer-centric approach by resolving concerns and finding opportunities for service improvement.
  • Collaborate with counterparts in adjacent territories and across lines of business to leverage vertical integration for enhanced operational efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed logs of customer interactions, leads, and opportunities in Salesforce, using it as a primary tool for sales management.
  • Regularly review and update forecasts, backlogs, and market conditions to support forecasting efforts.
  • Actively participate in sales meetings and cross-functional discussions to ensure alignment with company goals and market strategies.
  • Ensure responsiveness by promptly following up on sales leads, quotes, and customer requests.
  • Maintain awareness of competitor activities and market conditions to proactively adjust sales strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with the operations and production teams to address any internal or external factors affecting sales or customer relationships.
  • Participate in local marketing events and foster relationships with new customers as part of the company's market expansion strategy.
  • Conduct overnight travel as necessary to support sales and training activities and foster strong internal and external customer relationships.

Requirements

  • Experience in the construction materials industry is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce or similar CRM tools, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel overnight when needed to support sales activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
