About the position
As a Platform Architect on the API Design team, you will be responsible for designing APIs that support client user experiences across various channels, including web and mobile. This role focuses on understanding REST fundamentals and providing guidance on API design without engaging in coding tasks.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product, experience, and integration teams across the enterprise to provide a detailed API specification.
- Help maintain and identify improvements to REST API standards.
- Provide formal design assessments for API specifications based on proposals from development teams.
- Identify and assist in the implementation of automation for the validation and approval of design specifications.
- Provide guidance and messaging around standards and best practices for the implementation of REST APIs.
- Work with infrastructure engineers to ensure smooth deployments and sustainable performance for the platform.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in API design or architecture.
- Strong understanding of REST fundamentals and ability to articulate various aspects of REST, including usage of verbs and resource design.
- Experience with GitHub or other distributed version control systems.
- Familiarity with Java and JAX-RS web services development.
- Familiarity with Node.js.
- Knowledge of enterprise continuous integration and layered testing principles.
