About the position

The Application Administrator-Lead position is responsible for overseeing the support and performance of server and application environments within the Department of Finance and Administration. This role involves complex troubleshooting, design, and planning of enterprise-level applications, as well as mentoring other application administrators. The position is hybrid, requiring both in-office and remote work, and includes responsibilities for ensuring the integrity and availability of applications and servers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the support for server and application performance in production, development, and test environments.
  • Perform complex troubleshooting of server and application issues.
  • Design and plan enterprise-level applications and infrastructure.
  • Mentor other application administrators and provide guidance on complex tasks.
  • Monitor application and server performance using performance monitoring tools.
  • Implement security settings to ensure data security during transit and at rest.
  • Evaluate network data analysis for load balancing and troubleshooting.
  • Schedule and perform routine maintenance on applications and servers.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system implementation and recovery.
  • Conduct training sessions for the application administration team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and five years of professional experience in applications, systems, or network programming, or related fields.
  • Experience in administratively managing business or information systems, or teaching methodologies for analyzing or developing information systems.
  • Substitution of an associate's degree in relevant fields may be accepted for the required bachelor's degree.
  • Professional-level experience may substitute for the specific associate's degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Graduate coursework in relevant fields may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with enterprise application software support.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery concepts and planning.
  • Familiarity with performance monitoring and tuning techniques.
  • Experience in mentoring and training team members.
