About the position

The Assistant Property Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Property Manager with the daily operations of a large property. This position involves overseeing staff, managing resident relations, and ensuring compliance with housing regulations while maintaining the property's overall performance and appeal.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with staff leadership and task follow-up.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing and company policies.
  • Manage leasing, resident relations, and advertising.
  • Collect rent, deposits, and manage delinquency.
  • Oversee property maintenance and contractor work.
  • Keep Yardi/AppFolio/Rent Cafe and all other documents updated.
  • Complete LIHTC/market-rate files and recertifications.
  • Conduct market surveys and outreach marketing.
  • Assist with resident retention programs and community events.
  • Secure property and enforce policies.
  • Train staff and attend required training sessions.
  • Complete reports, work orders, and deposit accounting timely.

Requirements

  • Must have LIHTC and property management experience.
  • Experience in staff leadership and property operations.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and compliance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Yardi, AppFolio, or Rent Cafe software.
  • Background in marketing or community event coordination.
