About the position

The Associate Dean of Learning Resources and Director of The Learning Center is a twelve-month educational administrator position responsible for providing vision, leadership, and support for The Learning Center. This role involves overseeing faculty, staff, facilities, budget, and policies while developing and coordinating academic support activities across the division. The Associate Dean will also represent the division in relevant organizations and activities, ensuring compliance with educational regulations and promoting student success.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and implement academic support programs and services for all students.
  • Facilitate communications about departmental activities, events, deadlines, and timelines.
  • Serve as instructor of record for The Learning Center in accordance with Title 5 regulations.
  • Develop and maintain an environment that promotes student safety and well-being.
  • Provide administrative oversight for the Credit for Prior Learning program.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of all programs, services, and activities of The Learning Center.
  • Supervise and evaluate classified staff and faculty assigned to The Learning Center.
  • Develop schedules for faculty assignments and train faculty on Title 5 regulations.
  • Ensure recruitment, hiring, and supervision of college assistants and part-time employees.
  • Track and report hourly student activities eligible for apportionment.
  • Develop and deliver student academic support activities and programs across the division.
  • Promote The Learning Center services to faculty and students through various materials and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with Title 5 regulations regarding training and supervision of tutors.
  • Conduct analysis and evaluation of The Learning Center and other academic support services.
  • Manage annual programmatic budgets and related grants.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Recent experience in a leadership role within a Learning Center operation for at least two full-time years.
  • Possession of a master's degree in a relevant field such as education or instructional psychology, along with one year of formal training or leadership experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • A doctoral degree.
  • Evidence of effective leadership at the community college or four-year college/university level.
