About the position

The Associate Lab Computing Analyst role is designed to support scientists, researchers, and clinicians by providing technical assistance in laboratory IT environments. This position focuses on implementing and maintaining Windows-based platforms, ensuring connectivity, and enhancing overall support for desktop applications in a laboratory setting. The analyst will also be responsible for compliance with corporate policies and act as a technical support contact for field service engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor, and provide technical support for customer laboratory IT environments typically integrated with instrumentation.
  • Implement customer-specified benchtop computing design and processes.
  • Administer and ensure connectivity of customers' Windows-based platforms.
  • Maintain and support the operating system, desktop hardware and peripherals, enterprise print strategy, management tools, application packaging, desktop tool development, software distribution, and core desktop applications.
  • Manage onboarding, retirement, and relocation of equipment.
  • Implement Windows-based security, including user/group permissions, file/folder permissions, group policies, and local security policies.
  • Analyze, identify, and implement enhancements, upgrades, and/or solutions to improve overall support of the desktop platform in a timely manner.
  • Ensure adherence to clients' corporate policies through periodic reporting and compliance programs.
  • Act as the technical support contact for field service engineers repairing and troubleshooting client instrument and information technology issues.
  • Follow documented procedures, policies, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Create and maintain a physical inventory of lab equipment, PCs, software, and any other information pertinent to the environment.
  • Submit weekly Engineer reports to the team lead by COB on the last business day of the week.
  • Act as the contact for software/hardware-related inquiries.
  • Escalate IT issues that are not resolved to PKI Lab IT analysts.
  • Participate in client team meetings.
  • Escalate delivery concerns to the team lead.

Requirements

  • Experience in technical support for laboratory IT environments.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based platform administration.
  • Knowledge of operating system, desktop hardware, and peripherals maintenance.
  • Experience in implementing Windows-based security measures.
  • Ability to analyze and implement enhancements and upgrades to desktop platforms.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technology issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with benchtop computing design and processes.
  • Ability to identify, track, and complete tasks for multiple projects.
