About the position

The B2B Marketing Director at Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) is a dynamic leadership role focused on driving the company's commercial business forward through strategic marketing initiatives. This position is responsible for crafting and executing marketing plans that elevate the DFA brand, connect with customers, and differentiate DFA's solutions to provide value to farmer-owners. The ideal candidate will support innovation and customer engagement, ensuring that the DFA brand resonates with customers and supports the company's growth as a leader in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of and develop marketing plans that support the go-to-market execution of commercial network / connected customer strategies.
  • Create a vision and execute how DFA communicates and demonstrates capabilities and services to customers, anchoring DFA's brand position across marketing materials and messaging.
  • Partner with Sales, R&D, and Insight teams to create customer-first strategic communications and selling tools.
  • Gather, capture, and analyze category/customer insights to inform strategic marketing and communications planning.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of strategic customers' business and the communications/marketing landscape.
  • Identify trends, opportunities, issues, and best practices across B2B and consumer marketing.
  • Pursue opportunities aligned to trends and insights that intersect with customer needs and DFA business goals.
  • Foster peer relationships with customer marketing counterparts to support customer needs.
  • Personalize and optimize customer engagement based on understanding of the customer/category.
  • Supervise and own the day-to-day plans and execution of marketing activities for customers.
  • Lead strategy and rollout plan for how marketing, sales, R&D, and other partners access information and resources.
  • Create compelling stories and ideas that align with customer needs.
  • Provide strategic oversight in trade show strategy across the commercial network.
  • Lead and manage the B2B marketing team, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
  • Drive sales training as necessary across the commercial network.
  • Monitor food trends related to DFA's focus and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing/business or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 10+ years of marketing/communications experience with recognized leadership experience.
  • Previous experience in the dairy, food manufacturing, ingredient, or flavor house industry required.
  • 2+ years of people management experience.
  • Experience developing marketing activation plans.

  • Working knowledge of dairy ingredients and technologies.
  • Executive presence to work with the C-suite.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, influence, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and databases.
