About the position

The Bilingual Leasing Specialist at Birge & Held is responsible for building relationships with prospective residents and guiding them through the leasing process. This role emphasizes sales and customer service, requiring a proactive approach to attract new tenants and maintain positive community engagement. The Leasing Specialist will work closely with the Community Manager to ensure compliance with company policies and provide exceptional service to potential residents.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other laws pertaining to apartments.
• Answer phone and email daily, responding promptly to all prospects and leading to on-site appointments.
• Schedule, coordinate, and conduct unit showings with prospective tenants.
• Meet with new prospects and provide expert information on our product in a kind and helpful manner.
• Generate new leases and initiate creative strategies to build positive buzz about the apartment community.
• Check curb appeal and apartments each day to ensure readiness for tours.
• Lead social media initiatives to connect and engage residents, posting announcements and updates.
• Shop the competition and meet/exceed monthly leasing targets.
• Complete daily checklist and report all property deficiencies to the Community Manager.
• Process applications and gather verifications to support the application process.

Requirements

• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Strong organizational and sales skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with others
• Strong computer and phone skills
• Understanding of Fair Housing regulations
• Previous sales and customer service experience
• Experience within the apartment industry is preferred
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Exhibit strong attention to detail
• Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced work environment.
