About the position

The Catering & Event Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Catering & Events Manager and Operational Team at Chef B Hospitality Group. This position involves providing logistical and administrative support for events, ensuring that all aspects of event execution are handled efficiently and professionally. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong passion for hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, ensuring all details such as table settings, décor, signage, and AV requirements are executed to plan.
  • Coordinate with vendors, staff, and venue personnel to ensure timely delivery of services and products.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients and guests during events, addressing concerns, special requests, or last-minute adjustments with professionalism.
  • Prepare and organize event materials, including décor, catering supplies, and client-specific requirements.
  • Support the catering team during tastings, vendor meetings, and pre-event preparations.
  • Provide administrative assistance, including data entry, scheduling, and answering client inquiries.
  • Monitor and maintain event inventory and supplies, ensuring everything is well-stocked and properly maintained.
  • Uphold health, safety, and cleanliness standards during event execution.
  • Assist in gathering post-event feedback to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in hospitality, catering, or event services.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Proficiency with basic office software, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • A team player who can adapt to last-minute changes and client needs.
