About the position

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring behavior intervention plans for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities. This role involves collaboration with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure effective therapeutic outcomes, while also providing supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify target behaviors and underlying causes, and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA).
  • Provide supervision and training to RBTs, caregivers, and other team members to ensure consistent application of behavior interventions and data collection procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze data to track client progress, adjust interventions as needed, and ensure the effectiveness of the treatment plan.
  • Provide direct services to clients as necessary, including individualized therapy, skill development, and crisis intervention when required.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and medical professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Provide training, support, and resources to families and caregivers to ensure they can implement strategies and maintain progress at home.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and any changes to interventions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory bodies and ethical standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest ABA research, trends, and regulatory changes to ensure that all practices are in line with industry standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Board Certified as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • At least 1-2 years of experience working in behavior analysis, preferably with individuals diagnosed with autism or other developmental disabilities.
  • Experience supervising RBTs and other staff is preferred.
