About the position

The Chemist position at kdc/one involves conducting quality control analysis of raw materials and finished products in a lab and warehouse environment. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with company and customer specifications, preparing Certificates of Analysis, and managing testing processes. The Chemist will also assist in investigations of Out of Specification results and contribute to the improvement of lab operations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, sample, and test incoming raw materials from bulk chemical tankers and palletized materials.
• Prepare Certificate of Analysis (CofA) for product test results and complete product releases in the SAP system.
• Conduct testing and standardization of in-process bulk, finished bulk, and packaged products.
• Prepare necessary reagents and equipment for quality control analysis.
• Assist QC management with investigations of Out of Specification (OOS) results.
• Review bulk product testing results and recommend adjustments to the QC management team.
• Maintain customer standards and requirements for chemicals and finished goods.
• Provide recommendations to improve lab operations and assist with writing or updating departmental SOPs and WIs.
• Assemble and calibrate scientific testing and laboratory instruments.
• Complete and maintain SOPs, Work Instructions, and records associated with OOS or non-conformance results.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Degree required; Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related science field strongly preferred.
• Three (3) years of previous manufacturing experience required; previous compounding experience strongly preferred.
• Two (2) years previous training experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of FDA Good Manufacturing Practices and OSHA Safety Requirements.
• Skill in solving problems and analyzing data.
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions including Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with aseptic sampling techniques.
• Familiarity with SAP system.
